Pakistani Students Rank 3rd In Getting Erasmus Scholarships

Pakistani students ranked 1st in applicants and the 3rd in achieving the Erasmus Mundus Joint Masters Degree Scholarship on order to study in several European states. The number of people being accepted for the scholarship has gone up almost 3 times in the last few years, the number has gone up from 46 in 2017 to 126 for the academic year 2020-21.

EU in collaboration with Higher Education Commission of Pakistan (HEC), launched the initiative a few years back. And in those years the number of applicants for this scholarship has only gone up, so much so, that Pakistan now ranks third in the number of accepted applicants, which is a move forward from fourth place.

The scholarship enables the students to work across several streams such as Engineering, Media, and Physics to name a few. This programme has enabled numerous people to capitalize on their skills and add value to their nations as well as their communities. Under the scholarship student exchanges, faculty exchanges, transnational training programmes, and leadership development take place.

Due to the uncertain nature of the times that we currently living in, it is hard to say anything about when the pandemic will end and the world return to normal but, universities are working to their fullest potential to ensure that students do not have to worry about anything and in addition to this, the guidelines issued by WHO are being carefully followed so as to provide a safe environments for both students and staff.

Erasmus Mundus Joint Master Degree (EMJMD) is a scholarship that is offered by Erasmus to the students of the partner countries and it not only collaborate with HEC but also, with the universities in Pakistan as well and this has proved to be a great opportunity for both the students as well as the staff in Pakistani universities.
