Initial Stages

The bank started its operations in 2002, when the Government of Pakistan decided to issue licenses for Islamic Banking. State Bank of Pakistan issued the Islamic Banking license to Meezan Bank, to operate as an Islamic Bank, which was the first of its kind in Pakistan.
